Religious painting in acrylic on canvas technique
Along with the well known and often used church painting techniques in our country, al secco and al fresco, there is also a technique of painting on canvas which is then glued to the wall. This technique is old, known in the Christian world, where it was used for church buildings which didn’t allow the paintings done in other techniques because of the construction materials used. Recently, we’ve come back to this technique, now widely used in Greece, but also in other countries.
We encounter this type of painting in Romania as well, at the Chappel of People’s Salvation Cathedral, in Bucharest.
